not my car to trash!
actually this was a new listing that just popped up on japan car sensor....
we'll be back home in tokyo next week, so out of curiosity thought i would call the broker, get the VIN & find out what it really is (was????).
link is below.....car is NOT a turbo - listing declares it a 1990 911 carrera with a 3.2l engine, and with that engine, those bumpers , seems pre dates 1990 (unless it was late delivery into japan).
whats most interesting is the mileage....only 16,000km - 9000miles & in japan with the gov't enforced system of inspections (needed to get insurance/registration, conducted by licensed mechanics, who have to record all details on an annual or every 2 yr. basis) its virtually impossible to screw with the odometer.
seems someone spent a lot of jpy on this car.....(likely without any reward!!)
but i surely love the removeable hard top.

Just a clarification on the odometer. It is very easy to screw with the odometer. Yes, the date of assembly is written in pen on it and it should match the handwriting on the wire harness, but..... with a sharpie pen and/or a trip to http://nhspeedometer.com/911/service_restorations/1.htm there is no telling what can be done. A quick trip to Hollywood every other year can take many miles of an odo...

in japan a car (of consequence) would not be traded, bought without this history.
basically only a jp'nese car is screwed with is on export market (good offshore brokers will provide shak-ken history, especially when dealing with specialties, porsche, bmw, skylines, turbo supras).
also understand that even with regular "family" vehicles average mileage on a jpnese car is about 2500km / yr. in the big cities, so low mileage specialties not uncommon.
to the other poster, yes badged a turbo, but its not.....posting clearly says 3.2l
carrera (to agree with vehicle registry) so definitely not a 930 edition.
its interesting car.......no price provided (have to visit).

i Guess that is why this is a discusion database. I think if you took off those boxed rockers , that fin intake thing and that big front jay leno huge chin looking front end you would have a nice smooth lined car.. the convertable top is kinda weak

I thought I saw a thread either here or in Pelican that there was a factory hard top available...is this one of them or was the car modified afterwards?
