Probably not for me, we're staying at a hotel in Newport Beach with some friends for NYE.....although maybe I may come up with something.

Congrats, Ed. Looks sharp! Should we start a pool to guess how long it takes to the first engine drop?

porsche makes this awesome engine plate and lift table for the 993 drivetrain. It probably costs 3K.
There's more "stuff", but it's no more difficult than the Carrera. You should be able to do it without breaking the alignment IIRC.

No word from Ed here...he's busy, but I want a damn update. No doubt he will have to get used to that big silly key remote.
A 993 is really a nice car.

Once you get all that intake and exhaust off, the motor would look tiny.

You know I did that to the 996 and felt the same way. I thought it was just stuffed in that compartment but then when I took the intake and plenum off.... it's a flat old case...

Ed's here. He drove 2 1/2 hours in wet Orange County traffic to get back to San Diego and score. Then 1 hour 20 minutes to drive 23 miles in wet serious traffic to get her home safely. Beer/cigar/ogle time.

I think I love her.

Yes, tango, I just did. Obviously not a lot of speed on my drive home until the end. But, I'm really impressed with manners in stop and go. Ruby's cams make that a nightmare. Easy shifting, easy clutch, power steering. I'm gonna be a bigger wuss than I am. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, no mistaking her DNA. You just know she and Ruby are closely related.

Thanks Jack. I guess I get to try out her wet weather manners for the next couple of days-she's dirty now.

Ruby's faster!

Tony Hatter's styling of the 993 looks so good from all angles especially the rear. Many say that the 993 is more closer to the 3.2s compared to the 964. It's touch, sound and appearance all telegraphs lightness, agility and controllability which epitomizes "Porscheness". I wish I could drive a 993 some day in the future. Ed, what a great choice. I am very happy for you.
