Looks great Ed. 95 is OBD-1 right? I should have waited and moved on your second pick.

Some of those slick carbon splitters would look good.

No problem. The Ipod hook-up was a success.

I actually dropped by there real quick with the kids today. Ended coming back home and worked around the house. Same stuff tomorrow. We'll figure out some time to meet up and chew the fat.

That was me Ed. Just a suggestion of course, but there's nothing wrong with the 911 flavor. It is iconic after all. Over on pelican, i started a thread about top 5 wishlist cars. Many, many folks have two 911's on their list. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...wish-list.html

So if your two 911s had names, they would be Linda Lovelace and Elizabeth Hurley? Or maybe it would be Marry Anne and Ginger?

Ed,

congrats !
Can you tell a little more about the M718 engine ?
What is different ? Does the M718 show up on the option sticker ?
I have an early 95 too (built in 03/94, VIN ends with 0448) and my engine looks similar. The later 95s have a different blower in the engine bay, it looks different, more like the varioram engines.

Watch for rust at the base of the windshield. My car has not seen lots of rain, and still, it has some rust bubbles growing in there :-(

Update : I just looked at my 993 maintenance sheet where I keep track of everything, and where I noted all the options.
I have an M718 option in there with question marks, I never found out what it was... :-)

Ha! She looks nice, but Ruby is still the stunner, I feel. Maybe a mix.

We're taking some toys down for a PCA hospital charity this morning, should be goofing around between 1-3 or so in the garage, then we've got dinner plans. You're welcome to swing by then.

It is definitely a 993 motor that is what they were selling in Europe in '94. Porsche used the M718 code to sell in the US earlier than the "true" '95 model year. They've done this other times as well, there was "no" 928 sold here in '92, and the earliest '93 GTS cars used the same option code. I'm 710, IIRC on my build.

I knew it was only a suggestion, just citing it as it's played in my mind. If I had the time and space, I'd certainly expand my auto horizons, and fill in other needs. I just think I've got my first priorities covered now. I know someone who had an older 911 named Marianne and a 993 named Ginger. Marianne isn't dirty enough.

I'll pass on Linda L and stick with an incognito "dirty girl", but Elizabeth works on the classsy side!

Looks great. Drop that ride height and put some MY02 wheels on there (the best looking for 993's in my opinion)...

Congrats!
