Happy Porscheversary to me! One year today!
One year ago today, December 4, 2009, I drove my 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera home and realized my long time dream of owning a late ‘80s 911.
Thus began a year of Porsche 911 obsession: Rennlist, Pelican, PCA, books, magazines, cars and coffee, fun runs, dinner meetings, and many new Porsche friends along the way.
I have enjoyed many great drives since that first drive home grinning the entire way: fun runs with Porsche friends, a fantastic drive along the Cherohala Skyway and Blue Ridge Parkway, to the Toys for Tots run I did earlier today. 4802 miles over the last year.
I’ve invested in my obsession as well: oil changes, valve job, turbo tie rods, ball joints, oil leaks, oil lines, sunroof seals, Bilsteins, Bridgestones, painted the Fuchs, strut bar, distributor cap/rotor, fuel pump, fuel filter, coil, spark plugs, seat covers, and finally M&K Premuffler/Sport Muffler and an RB Multi-Board Performance chip. Whew…
It’s been a great first year. The car has been just fantastic! I hope to enjoy many more years with my Venetian Blue beauty…

Congratulations! I'm getting close to a six month anniversary with an 86. Having a similar experience as you with Rennlist, Pelican, C&C events, etc. The pic below is from the Cherohala Skyway last weekend. Beautiful drive.

Congratulations!
Our cars are twins separated at birth - they look virtually identical. My one-year anniversary is coming up in January. I've put a lot of $$$ into mine as well over the past 12 months, but feel it was well worth it. The car is awesome and I get excited every time I turn the key and hear that flat six spring to life. May we have many more anniversaries with our Venetian Blue beauties!

Thanks guys!
Logan, love the twin and I'm sure we can all agree with your statement above. That sound never gets old...

Happy Anniversary! I may not own one, but this generation of 911s is what started my love affair with 911s. I've still got a ton of magazines and several brochures from this era. Probably some of the best quality Porsches EVER built. I hope to have one some day. My dream spec: GPW/Black G50 coupe, sport seats, no sunroof, front spoiler (tail-less for me), 7 & 9" black centred Fuchs, nicely lowered. Please send to........

Love your new avatar. Paul, I still vividly remember your first post with your avatar depicting my favorite VB colored coupe of yours. I can't believe it has been a year already. Here's to many many more years of 911 intoxication ............Enjoy her safely in good health.
