Some tall person was looking for a none sunroof coupe. I just ran across this on E-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...item=592364491

Those cars are pretty rare, they're usually snapped up by track guys.

That was my thought exactly. Didn't want some one to miss it. Because I didn't see called out in description.

thanks for posting. I was one who had posted regarding this (although I'm sure there are others!)

I don't get this: I have seen a '74, white and another '74, orange w/stripes, both without sunroofs in the space of a single week.

This IS Seattle, but are these cars REALLY that rare? And with my luck, should I query these folks on behalf of 'board members? The orange one was for sale...

The '74 is not that uncommon without a sunroof. But by '78, almost all the 911s shipped to the US came with sunroofs. Had to special order an SC to NOT get the roof.
That's why a sunroof-less SC is pretty uncommon.

Cool

JW. It's that when you go to put a helmet on to do a drivers ed event or autocross. You'll find that it's a tight fit. I'm only 6' and I can't get a finger between the helmet and the sunroof headliner bezel. If you're going to buy a car just for the track or autocross, these are the ticket.

I really enjoyed my first DE event last month. I'm going to go to aftermarket seats. Drivers will be one from Steve @ Rennsportsystems and passenger Recaro or Sparco. I want to sit the way I want to sit. Not the way the car makes me sit.

My previous P-Car was a 75S with a 3.0. It was without a sunroof. When I moved to Montana my mechanic, Jeff Gamroth had me a check in 24 hrs. Another customer was waiting to find one. So I hate to see one slip away to sit in a garage.

Cary:

Hadn't seen you post for some time and am glad to see your comments (got the pinch nuts in you sent me for the heater boxes; thanks!).

Yeah, that makes perfect sense to me. Also didn't realize that it was model-specific. I keep learning great stuff from you guys!

Has anyone else read VicE's book "Porsche High Performance Driving Handbook"? He speaks highly of a low center of gravity and just being able to see the road over the steering wheel; no more. I recommend this book highly---it is very interesting and I am finding it well worth the $20.00 or so I spent.
