Default Some interesting pics from a car club gathering last weekend

Every Saturday in Rancho Santa Fe, there is a gathering called "Secret Car Club". It really is unique due to the diverse cars that show up.

Last Saturday, a few of the cars:

A weird spoof on Ferraris that was really pretty well done as a goof, and funny.
But also, a late 30's Lagonda originally owned by Gary Cooper, an original owner 356, a few nice jags, a 428 Mustang (although not a prime year), and finally a new AMG SLS showed up. First one I've seen in person, pretty stunning and had an awesome sound.

And I spent the weekend fighting the Air Oil Separator. I should be good for a run this weekend if you're interested.

I'd like to, but I'm headed to the Bay Area for the weekend. I've only had Ruby out the one time, for this meet, in the last three weeks

That AMG is spoofing a late 80s Lexus. Great car - uninspired styling to put it nicely.

When I hit a cattleguard at speed in the back country, I lost a cap. Gimme a break you hounds! Besides, it matches my steel open lugnuts.

The SLS rear looks like they forgot something, but the front does throwback to the 300SL.

Hey Ed - cool pics. I saw an SLS at a lapping day just west of Ottawa up here in the great white north and couldn't agree more with you about how impressive it looks and sounds. Pictures don't do the car justice - certainly looks nice in the pics/videos I've seen, but in person it had me weak in the knees.

...On my way out to buy a lotto ticket now...

Cheers

I don't mind the "no-cap" look. Some 911s can pull it off nicely. Case in point: post #844 in the "Post your 911 pic"(or whatever its titled) thread.
Thanks for taking the time to share the pictures Ed. I'm a little removed from the car culture and these threads are appreciated.

Lots of smart guy's here...seems like we could start a lottery "pool" or something. I'm sure we can corner the damn system somehow.
I've gotta win.

Great gathering of cars!

I see that we weren't the only ones playing on a variant of the Ferrari theme.

This is our LeMon's car; based upon a Miami Vice theme.

Funny that both went with a pig-Ferrari theme.

The SLS looks are an acquired taste, but I saw one in Stuttgart this past summer and agree that the sound was fabulous!
