Wish I was going with ya Doyle... I had no funds for the show this year and I am pretty bummed about it... I saw them 2 times and would have loved to see this tour

still pi$$es me off the radios wont play ANYTHING off snakes and arrows yet the "classic rock" station will play ne new (same warmed over sounding) AD/DC rock n roll train (which although i like ac/dc sounds just like every other ac/dc song on the planet!)

then no new music from Rush??? WTF ! what is it not good??? is it not "classic" dont get me going !!!

I'd much rather go to the final show of the 2010 Flying Lizard tour, which is in Georgia Saturday, so I fly to Atlanta Friday night!

Ivangene...I had no idea your a Rush fan. I've seen them over a dozen times. I should be in Atlanta this evening, but my life right now is a blur...all in a good way, and I couldn't squeeze it in. Don-ed my Snakes and Arrows shirt all day.

Ed(hughes), You will enjoy Road Atlanta I suspect. Weather should be good.

I know I'm stepping outside a bit but couldn't help posting this, just for Bird...I hate to cause unbelievable remorse in such a great guy (a RUSH fan), but we pulled off a Meet & Greet (music industry connections) and,..well,..the pic says the rest......

The show was amazing (an understatement).....

The guy with the "drummer's T-shirt" would be me...

maybe we can talk 2011?

,..back to fuel line parts studies...

Best,

Doyle

My head hangs low....
I've been thinking about you all day shepp. hey, in the audio forum "best speakers you've ever heard" a musician, player of drums, chimed in...he claims to be a profesional in a similar career as yourself. I would love to see your input.
I will PM you, probably in the morning.

Maybe I'll sneak over to that forum and introduce myself...hopefully it will go much better than the zealots that populate the OT/Religion forum...and my nasty experience there..

..your head should be low, rascal. Maybe we can put something together should the 2011 leg include Alpharetta?

My head will be "low" this weekend ,..under the fuel pump.

Best,

Doyle

Well, it looks like one could just replace the hoses that enter into the tunnel (and convert to plastic lines )...not sure how just yet...will have to put her back up on the rack to study this a bit further..trying to figure out where that hose to plastic line connection "happens"...........lotsa' info out there.

Thanks to all!

Back to my issue...which I can't get to today (dammit),..I've seen some pretty good threads on getting the rubber lines replaced (pressure/return) in the fron area,.UP TO where it connects into the tunnel's hardlines. I still can't picture the physical position of this connection point between hardline and rubber line...does this fitting appear AT the rear panel (bulkhead?),..or is it further in?.........or does it "stick out"?

Best to all..

Any pics of how this union (at the wall) attaches? Non-abrasive hose clamps?

Sorry Doyle for the lack of help. I just don't remember how they get thru. Seems like the hardlines come through the firewall via the tunnel and the hoses all attach under the front IIRC. i will study PET and remind myself.

"I can't stop thinkin' BIG!!!"

I think the hardlines are within the tunnel (only) with rubber on the outsides? I guess I'll have to get her back on the rack to see where this joing of hard to rubber takes place.....maybe I'll drop the inspection plate towards the rear tunnel and have a look there? Or, see if there's something to get to AT the firewall underneath....my recollection was that the rubber disappeared into the firewll but don't recall EXACTLY.....

Maybe someone will chime on HWRE this union actually is (high pressure line from fuel pump to hardline in the tunnel???????????

Thanks for the response, BIRD.

I would mention that RUSH is now announcing some 2011 US dates,.........................

BEST!

I'm going way out on a limb here. Engine bay fuel lines are a common and dangerous problem with 944/944 turbo(these are front engine watercooled four cylinders rus). A couple of hard lines run from the rear of the car up to the front and enter the engine bay thru passengers inner fender. from there, there is a couple of rubber lines going to(and from) engine. The pressure line is larger in diameter than the return. I have replaced a couple of these and it is risky because both are crimped onto the hard line. Ordering replacements from Porsche gets you the ENTIRE hard line with about 18" of rubber hose crimped onto the ends that are all you need. The aftermarket has a great fix. My prefered replacements are made by Travis at Rennbay(site sponsor) and requres one to remove the old rubber, remove an inch or so from the hard line because it has a bulge for the crinp, then the replacements have a compression fitting that tightly seals onto the hardline. Once fitting is in place a standard -AN fitting and hose can be installed. Here is my limb...if the hard lines are the same size and accesible with a miniature tubing cutter - a similar setup may be used. The other ends of the hoses would be in question... further out on limb I step. Would a set of 944 fuel lines, if proper length, work on a 911 3.2. If a knowledgeable guy could compare/confirm all the sizes of fittings, lines etc. I would have to reccomend getting in touch with Travis. Why Travis? because he made me a set of custom lenght hoses for my 24S. His service and quality I can only describe as of the best I've ever experianced. Rennbay is in florida and I get stuff from him within three days - even my custom order. He offers several fuel line materials.
A similar rig may be available for the 911 from different vendors and worth a google - which I did not do.

Let the flaming begin(as I hear my limb cracking)
