Ha. Back when they built the outer, outer, outer loop road in Phoenix on the west edge of the White Tanks, some of the guys (Chris Fisher, the "original" Powerhaus guy, among others) would use that 10-15 mile stretch for top speed runs. New pavement, and I don't even think there was desert wildlife out there. Rumor had it that the goal was to get into the 200 club. Even with a domesticated 935 engine it didn't happen.

at about age 16 I decided one of the things I want to do in my life is 200mph on land... at 43 I have drive 150-160 once, and riden (on a closed track with a PCA instructor in a GT3) at 165-175 range - I have no doubt I am not able to safely control a vehicle at 200 nor would I do it in something that didnt have huge amounts of checks and double checks prior to the run... my 996 had a tire form a separation and bubble 2 days after a DE and i will tell you I have nighmares about what thay could have been like at 120-135 !!

I've sort of blocked out of my memory the dumb things I did as a kid on bikes and cars. I can say that a 914-6 at 120 +/- is a handful, and I would not be looking down at the dash no matter what. It does not even compare to a 911 at 140 +/-.

No, definetly not. I have been to 190mph in a modded 997 turbo and can tell you there is speedo error to deal with, I would say my indicated 190 was actually more like 180 ish. 220 is not possible unless your pushing 750hp plus with different gearing. So no, I would even doubt you really hit 200...sorry to burst your bubble

No. Not possible.
rusnak, who I was and what I did is a half forgot picture as well. Glad we're still here.
And to the OP: I second what Jack Olsen said - with emphasis. Do not attempt this kind of crap on public roads under any circumstances. Please do not participate in this again - please.

Setting aside the horsepower and drag questions for a second, the gearing calls bull**** on this one. With the stock 6th gear you would need an 8700 rpm redline to hit that speed. Not likely.
