Hey guys,
Completed 2 DIY's: oil change and rear brake pads. SUCCESS!!
Well... almost. I broke both brake pad sensors trying to pry them out. They were SO brittle, they cracked as soon as applied pressure to extract them. I was really careful too, but I guess I don't have the technique/experience to correctly remove them.
Luckily new sensors are cheap and I ordered 2 new ones. So before I get back in there, any advice on how to insert these correctly? Because I could see myself break them again while installing![grr](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/cussing.gif)
BTW, it felt SO gratifying working on the car. Next is that damn erratic oil pressure sender!![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
As always, thank you guys!

I consider them to be throw-away parts. I don't even bother to remove them. Centric makes nice sensors, but the cheap ones work just as well. Use finger pressure to install, or very light pressure with a suitable tool.

the new pads I have where for a differant sensor and I opted to tie off the sensors since I am confident that about every couple weeks I check the brakes anyhow....the "other" ones glue in??? that also sounds disposable so if you want sensors just replace when doing pads... cheap and simple solution

For those who think brake pad wear sensors are useless: (A) Cut the plastic pad thickness sensor fitting off. (B) Solder the two wires together. (C) Wrap with electrician's tape. (D) Plug back into female socket. This will kill the red brake pad warning light on the dash. You do this to each pad.

sig_a helped me solve this very issue last weekend:
take a small hammer or similar tool and gently tap the sender while the engine is running. In my case, the needle was stopping just under 3 bar, but after a few taps, it shot right back up.
Hopefully, yours will too..I now plan to replace the sender.

Hey Ray,
I tried the "tapping technique", but not go. The sender is still acting erratic, but it works fairly well when the engine/oil is at operating temp. It's def next on my DIY list.
