Just because some of us who sing the praises of the 915 own them means nothing....

They are fine boxes, and Porsche built quite the reputation on the world's racing stage and in car mags, bench racing, fishtales, etc via 10's of thousands of 915 equipped cars. Quite often, they show their age and their owners' lack of knowledge. A lot of balky shifters can benefit from a proper adjustment and $30 worth of new bushings.

For the record, a G50 is not bullet-proof, and is more expensive to repair. I'd say any Carrera from 84-89 is what you should be looking for. Go for the best CAR, not a particular gearbox.
