Default VIN and thoughts....

Looking at this one here in the Middle East- May fly out to see it....In the email stages right now, but this is the VIN, which I'm having a hard time getting to match the Targa...Might be me though....Thoughts (yes, I know the seats are older sport seats, but not sure that it is relevant to my VIN worry...What year is this Targa...

vin: WPOZZZ91ZES140626

Pancho,

If that's the true VIN, it's not an '88. The "E" indicates that it's a 1984 model. Also, the bold lettering on the rear reflector showed up on pre-1987 cars.

I'd be careful about this one. Good luck.

Yes definetly an "84" if the vin does belong to this car. As Helios59 said, they used bold letters from 84-86. I would look for solid paperwork and history.

What Helios59 said, plus I also think the last year for the radio antenna in the right front fender was 1984. And those sure look like '84 sport seats.

looks like some sort of high end crappy car dealer... Is that a Rolls next to the 996? and another Rolls inside.....

I smell snake oil - just be careful

they like to sell expensive "no history" cars to people who are uneducated

Thanks guys. I have Peter's book, and I thought that I might be reading the VIN incorrectly, as I had it as a 84 as well. I didn't realize that that type of sport seat was still in production for 84's.
Thanks for the help with same, will let you know what happens.

The seats you fellows are referring to is the last year ('84) of that "type design" sport seat. If I am wrong then someone will let me know. Starting in '85 the seat bottom looked more like a one piece where it connects the bolster.

Is that "silver rose"? pretty color. Be careful. I know it's a grainy picture, but that pass side door and fender looks suspicious.
