Oh boy, I keep the computer off for 1/2 of my flight, and see what I've missed!
Ruby wasn't perfect, but if someone had a totaled 3.2 with the bits needed, could make for a resurrection.

I do miss that car, and enjoyed my journey with her of 10 years. If I had more time to enjoy her, and perhaps didn't live in Calif, I'd certainly never would have sold her.

Thanks for posting the pics Douglas!

Ha! You nailed it! The hippie scofflaw is nothing but a salesman. A very good salesman, but his worthless slogans and vapid Youtube commentary makes it apparent that he's nothing but an empty flannel shirt.

The irony in Ruby is that the body is going to a place where the engine is legal.

I still can't wrap my head around the entire story no matter how hard I try. I get it at some levels, but man, the car guy in me thinks Ed should have held out for another option to show up. Must be a nice 993, must be a nice boat, and it must suck to have knee pain so bad that you can't push in the clutch on a 915 tranny.

Anyway, forward to new adventures.

....and for the record, Ed has literally sold Ice to Alaskans. I kid you not.

When did I get the bad knee pain?

LOL. Crap. I skipped right over this post.

No problem Ed, wish I had more to post. My favorite one is of the two cars sitting side by side at the diner at the top of the mountain. Love that one.

I thought your old knees played a part in selling Ruby?

Ed, do you recall how raised the spindles were?

RSR struts are around 12 or 13mm (not cm!). With stock street springs you can occasionally rub the spoiler on the pavement in right hand turns. Chuck over at Elephant goes something like 19mm....

No one ever confuses mm and cm, do they? I'm thinking 12mm is the number.

I'd have to look in the records for the distance raised.

No problems driving Ruby...fit like a glove....me and the clutch worked in sync.

No plans for it to go anywhere, actually. If someone wants it still nearly whole, less drivetrain, suspension, and seats......just like the wedding vows, speak now or forever hold your peace.........

I can measure, easy enough. Still may not use them. The other pair I have were at the edge of modification, both for spindle height and decamber.

Are you planning on selling it once it is completed? If so I would be interested.

Guess I wasn't clear--the '84 has sacrificed its mechancials for the '73. If someone wants the '84 before I start going for the wiring harness, vaccum assist brakes, etc. (likely because he has a cosmetically ratty SC or Carrera), then now is the time to speak up. Because I'm not throwing $10K+ of mechanicals AND the labor to piece the car back together to get $12-14K back.

You no work for free???

Ken, you have no idea how badly I wish I lived closer to you. I'd be all over helping you with any task you asked to just have a glimpse at your operation. We should have never sold the house in Daly City.

By the way.... What would it cost me for the shell after all has been stripped? I would love to have the Targa vs. Cab.
