Too funny, about the thread coming full circle, so to speak.

You could probably sell this car for more than you'll have in it, knowing you.

And here we are, nearly a year later. Have I mentioned earlier that I tend to move quickly?

Funny that this blob, when assembled, will be the most valuable of the fleet. And that when I started this thread I would have been happy with $5K for the shell. But no, Flipper and Vulture were down in the $2-3K range.........hey guys, how you likin' what it takes to get even a rusted longhood these days?

I chased that motor on occasion through some of the coolest canyons in San Diego County. Mostly just watched it vanish into the next turn. Ed was always kind enough to let me catch up just enough to catch a whiff of his cigar before he rushed head long into the next set of twisties. Loved that car.

Guess I'll need to bring the hybrid down sometime so the engine/trans and suspension can revisit those roads. More like is we'll get it down to Buttonwillow where any of you guys can have a go.

Seriously, the shell of Ruby won't be resurrected as a street car by me. Too many other projects. My friend in Denver was going to take it, as he has a 3.2/trans/suspension parts sitting around. But transportation issues, and the fact that I'm really going to make this '73 an '84 will leave me with a nice tub in a unique color pretty much begging for a home.

Obviously I've now removed the running gear, and suspension/wheels/tires. I'll use the seats/door panels/gauges also. Now I'm wanting to go deep, deep in converting to vacuum assist brakes; and even swapping in the '84's wiring harness. Yes, labor intensive. But I've got the two cars sitting next to each other.........

I think Ed has come to grips with what he has done. He is more John Wayne than John Wayne. Absolutely Idolize the man. He could be compared to an iguana, actually.....He's always moving forward with no thought of the past.
