Thanks. My car and my garage are both older and less-well-tended than yours, x038F. But I'm at least, uh, well-documented. There's a thread on the re-do of the old garage, here.

The dual hitch receivers are bolted through the wood at three points, with washers to keep them from sinking further, and with countersunk holes so the bench surface is flat.

I'll include one picture, and I'll return the thread to your better-than-new 911.

I did the same thing shortly after acquiring my 78 911SC in 2004. I guess there was more body color in the wheel wells in the earlier days. I was shocked myself at what came out from underneath the years of road grime.

I had an inch thick of anti rust protection on my 78 .. All things considered //where i live .. I left it .. looks great on your cars though ...

I would be inclined to say you want to clear coat some of those fittings, or keep them lightly oiled.

Go to your local auto body paint shop. Buy a can of matching paint (~$70) and have them fill one or two rattle spray cans for you. ~$10/each.

Then fixing something like this yourself will be super easy...

More pics of my progress. I've been working my way back. I now have both front fenders clean and the right rear fender done. The left rear fender is a work in progress as is the engine & tranny. I do not plan on removing the cosmoline from the floor pan though.





I haven't taken any pictures of the rear or engine "after" but here's the "before". Maybe this weekend I'll get take the wheels off and take some more.

I LOVE this kind of stuff! I found when the cosmoline is gone the underbody is much easier to take care of, especially if the car is only driven on nice days.
If it's an everyday car that lives and drives in a 4 season climate, leave the cosmoline on.
I have to admit your detailing was very good on the paint as well, I may wetsand mine but the GP White cars seem to have rock hard paint.
