I learnt a lot from all the responses. Thank you for the time taken to help me out. I said no to the grey market car (would have never even known that there could be potential issues but for some responses..thank you) and await the PPI on the other car being actually done by another prospective buyer. I'll keep looking. My heart says 915 tranny so I'll probably pass on the other car too. The hunt for a 3.2 is probably more exciting...than actually getting into one.

If you like the car and everything else lines up properly, don't be too hung up on the 915 transmission. I've been using one for six years, and yes it's a little sloppy, but that can be corrected. A wevo shift kit tightens up the play nicely and adds a reverse lockout that prevents sloppy shifting problems. that can be done for under 1K, including installation. I installed one last summer and them very pleased with the outcome. This is a competition grade short shift mechanism that really makes a difference. Good luck! Chuck
