FS: Very unique 911 CTR esque w/3.9 na 400hp
Some of you may have seen this car on another site. However, I am finally making time to post it here as well.
Testing interest in my most recently completed project. 3.9 liter, 993 based engine. DTA pro 8 engine management, Jenvey individual throttle bodies. Very docile and drivable on the street with loads of low end torque, no hiccups or flat spots. Also, a wide open throttle sound that brings a smile every time. The car is a lightened 86' sunroof coupe'. From there things diverge a great deal. I will list the mods and conversions starting with the engine. This is a very unique car built to a very high standard of quality and fitment. Exceptional throttle response and very, very quick. Drive anywhere. No excuses, fully sorted, track and street weapon.
ENGINE:
993 based 3.9 liter.
104mm perfect bore cylinders with JE 11.5 to1 pistons, coated, lightweight pins.
Carillo rods, GT3R oil pump, Bore in cyliders with RSR type O ring seal.
RSR type big valve cylinder heads, 52mm Intake 43mm exh.
DC 62-110 cams Good to ~ 8000RPM Rev limiter set at 7800
Jenvey 51 to 45mm Individual throttle bodies
DTA Pro 8 stand alone engine management system. Sequential Injection
The power groups engine and efi box quick disconnect harnesses.
Orig front fender oil cooler along with a Ruf front cooler in series.
1 3/4" Steve Timmins 3 into 1 header/ heater boxes w/ powerflow muffler.
Sounds like heaven
This engine chassis dyno tuned at 345 RWHP just shortly after break in miles.
It is tuned to run on pump 92 octane fuel.
Suspension:
TRG's RSR coilovers with 350# front and 500# rear springs along with hypercoil helper springs.
TRG'S "B" sway bars
Weltmeister bushings
All other components bead blasted and powder coated.
Corner balanced and aligned. CAR weighs ~ 2450#'s
Brakes:
TRG;S 993 TT big red brakes for the carrera bodied cars. 993 TT front calipers w/
965T rear calipers. Big rotors, aluminum hats....
Interior:
RSA carpet kit and leather door panels, All other parts including dash re-covered in black leather by GAHH. New headliner done by local professional trimmer.
Momo Street racer GT seats.
Das sport bar
Momo Prototipo steering wheel.
10K tach by north hollywood
200 mph speedo.....................
Exterior:
Ruf CTR esque front and rear bumpers with extensive fitment time performed.
The fit is exceptional and looks factory.
RSA tail all glass and color matched. Fits perfectly
993 side mirrors that are electric and work as they should.
The cars paint job underwent a windows out, doors, hood, lids off, all new seals restoration. It was re-sprayed in the original Grand Prix white.
New factory windshield................
Driveline:
915 trans with a quaife differential. Plenty strong, G-50 is 80#;s ++ heavier
Rebuilt w/ new 2nd & 3rd syncs... Driveshafts rebuilt
All new wheel bearings
Turbo tie rods
Bump steer kit
RUF Avus wheels 8x17fr 9x17rr with Yokohama AVS sports 215/ 45 & 255/40's
I am sure I missed some items that I can add.
I am conflicted in selling this car. It truly is one of the more fun and unique projects I have undergone in some time. Having been a professional Porsche mechanic in the 80's. I have never stopped being an enthusiast since. However the journey of building the cars can be as much fun for me as driving them.
That having been said, I am looking at a possible hair dryer Porsche project.
Evidently the passion to build never dies.
The car has some 2400 miles since completion of the above work.
I have had it at Brainerd Intl. in 08' once for a Slow Pokes event. Went almost 160MPH at the end of the now former front straight.
Bottom Line: This car would cost well over $100K to build. ASKING $50,000.
Serious inquires only please. Feel free to call me at 612 860-7771
All the Best, Steve

Sold my 993, this car is still for sale. Oh, and I still have 993TT on the brain so this one has to go too.
Negotiating with the significant other creates its departure prior to 993TT purchase.
