I had a buddy in Atlanta that started dating this girl...she started taking him to these ever-increasingly risque parties. So, my buddy asked one of her friends at this party "what has my girl been doing the last few years?" Her friends' reply was..."don't ask questions you don't want the answers too". He hed his fun for a couple of weeks and dumped her.
There's a moral in this thread.

Thanks guys. The car is been at the Porsche dealer for a PPI since yesterday. I'm just waiting to see what they say. The Honda dealer offered to pay for it and an oil change. But I don't think I'm going to get it anymore, the guys on the 997 subforum keep insisting it's not a good deal! I already did a VIN decod with Ric Knab at Suncoast Florida, the warranty started in May of 2007.

I thought the one comment about accidents taking 6 months to show up on carfax was very interesting - and the one that said every jackass salesman had taken it out for a cigarette run too

I dont think driving the car hurts it - I know on good authority that one of the leaders in the m96 motor world says after a rebuild he waits till the "end of the driveway before I hit redline" on a newly rebuilt motor

keep going on this one and see what the dealer finds. You might find something good - and ask the Porsche dealer to put a CPO on the car.... if they do, its a good car!

I'm sure if the car checks out they'll tell me they can put a CPO on it. But at what cost? 4-5 grand more out of my pocket!

I dont have any idea about the costs associated with adding CPO - I dont know if the dealer will do it either. these are "ideas" that give you the tools to find the right car/dealer/coverage/price

You can get a 2001-2003 996 Turbo with low miles for that price.

Better engine, no RMS problems, better car.

BTW,spoke with the Porsche dealer...they won't certify it...he's saying they'll only certify cars that they own...no private cars or owned by other dealers...sounds fishy....I don't think he's willing to certify this one. I know I can get a Turbo at those years...but I wanted some sort of warranty.

check the CPO requirements - I belive an older turbo can still get a CPO... ask on the 996 forum, someone knows the dates/milage restrictions
