Good find or not?

Hey Ivangene! Don't worry about it! I just called the Honda dealer with the bad news. Deposit should be on its way. If it doesn't arrive soon,I have the charge on my Amex and I can dispute...they've always been very helpfull. The guy was pissed...I don't care...I guess it would've been a really good deal for them!

I dont know why he would be pissed other than loosing a sale... if any serious buyers come by, he now has a PPI report from the poorsche dealer to show the perspective buyer...he didnt loose anything but some time and my guess it he has lost some of that before - times are tough for car salespeople - he smelled the big commission and mentaly spent it before you decided the car was right for you - he should know better
and you learned a lot in 2 days

oh I must have got a little confused thee .. there is NO WAY that a Porsche will have CPO if it is not sold by them .. That is the whole hook on why you buy from a dealer ..
Anyway move on .. I agree the 996TT is a MUCH stronger engine than than the regular M96 .. looks like oyur buying from a dealer if you want warranty ..and believe me warranty is a wise choice.

The Porsche dealer where I made the PPI doesn't want to tell me squat, since I haven't payed for it,but the Honda dealer is sending me the whole report thru email and I'll post the results here...everything...including DME.

It's always good to see a good car go to a good home. I always feel dirty after deeling with various dealerships. If the car checks out, which is entirely likely, agree on a good number and go have fun. I never feel bad about beating up a dealer over the price of a car. I worked at dealerships over the years and know how they work. I stole my new Ford this past year and the dealership hated me, I had a worm cozy feeling knowing they were squirming trying to reach a deal. So I strongly reccommend haggling the price down - they stole that car anyway. They have a lot of room to move and are taking a bit of a risk putting that car on their floor to begin with so you have bargaining power.
First thing is to join PCA(Porsche Club America) and going to the first DE(drivers Education) they offer in your area. You NEED to know the capabilities of that car under controlled, experianced tudorship.
Many first time Porsche owners go thru the catalogs and get the chips and exhaust in the glossy ads not knowing that the biggest performance enhancement is the "loose nut behind the wheel".
Dare I say keep us posted.

I called the Honda dealer and told them to try and CPO the car thru the Porsche dealer that did the PPI. They told me they'll try it on Monday, but the Manager kept yelling that he has another customer interested. I said ' Ok, I don't care if you do,if you can CPO it, I'll take it,if not sell it to the other guy '
Still I couldn't find another one with the options this one has,low mileage and this price.
I did like the ' approach ' on negotiations that Gota911 has! hahaha...THAT'S THE WAY!

those sales tactics are so 80's (pick a decade)
cars sales (at least in my area) are not like that. When I bought my last car at a dealer they said "here's the keys, go drive it till you know its the right car, and then we will work out the details"
turned out I didnt like it and said so, they showed me a couple other cars, asked nice if they could call me if something came in that matched the description of what I said I wanted, took my number and I left... about 2 days later, got a call... told them I boguht something and they said.. "oh, good for you" never heard from them again... I did recommend them to a friend though !!
