Default Selling a 911 with a roll cage

Well, here I go again talking about selling the White Wonder. I'm wondering what you guys think about removing the roll cage before listing the car. I hate to cut it up to remove it and ruin the cage, but I can't see how it would ever come out in one piece. It's just bolted to the floor, so that's not a problem. It's hard to believe someone welded it together in the car and did such a neat job. The headliner is perfect and so are the welds.

Do you think it will detract from the value to leave it?

Some will think it has many many track miles and walk away from it. If a PPI is done on the car it will show it had one. Hard call.

I'm not trying to hide the fact that it has been on the track at all. It actually has very few miles on the track. I would not shy away from a PPI. I'm really thinking it might be viewed as an inconvenience.

Does it have all the other complimentary mods that would make it an attractive track car? ....or is it just a glorifies street car? If it's got all the goodies than why not the cage? If it is just going to be a street car than, ya the side-bar is gonna be a real bummer.

It's got a bunch of track stuff like upgraded sway bars Bilsteins, steel lugs headers, lowered. I even have Momo seats and 6 point harness that I could sell with the car or separately.

For a primarily street car, which is what I'm understanding here, I think a full cage is a HUGE negative. When I fell down the slope, I bought a cage for my car. I powdercoated it and installed it. I drove it one mile around the neighborhood, pulled it into the garage and cut out the front portion. Cages and bare heads do not mix. There is no way I'd sell that car to anyone to drive on the street without all kinds of waivers and disclaimers.

If, however, it is going to be priced to where one may consider it for a track toy or race car build, and it is a quality cage that will meet regulations of PCA, SCCA, NASA, etc, then I'd leave it in.

I think you should put it back to stock

PM the details of the parts you wont be needing

OK - seriously now
its a bit rough for a street car with no carpet and the interior like that, you will suffer on the open market. It would take a special buyer to want that stuff. You really are better off stock and sell the track bits and pieces IMO -----

SO PM me

Agreed. No cage should be bolted or welded to the floor.

A cage with reclining seats is a big no-no, plus, as other mentioned, it should only be used with a helmet.
What kind of foam is that on the cage ? Pipe insulation or SFI stuff ?

I say lose the cage, bring it back to stock and sell it and be honest about he track use. Not that you wouldn't be honest to begin with.

I have brand new carpet so that is not an issue. The interior is like new 930 stuff, so that will certainly not detract from the value.

You guys just confirmed what I was thinking. It's coming out!
