I should receive it early next week, I am hoping it gives me the power he said it would. Currently I have the SSI's and Borla exhaust mated with an autothority chip that gives sort of a lumpy idle on start up and the chip is 15 years old..so hoping the "tailored" chip helps more.

did you guys order a custom chip based on dyno readings or just the off the shelf chip that Steve Wong provides?
Been tempted to order one of these for a while but have also been told a live remap is the better way to go, here in the UK.
Always reading good reviews of SW chips so quite tempting to go that route.

Mapped on a dyno is definitely the way to go - especially when you are making modifications/customizations.

Steve has done enough of these in different configurations - especially with the 3.2 - that he has different maps based on what you have installed.

Even with my old 3.4 running 993 SS cams, headers, extrude honed intake and larger throttle body he sent me a chip that was 95% optimal. I went to the dyno, downloaded the maps - sent him the files and he tweaked the chip.

I installed a Steve Wong chip in my 89 Carrera last summer as well as a MK premuffler and Fabspeed dual out muffler.
This setup bumped my redline from 6200 to 6800 rpm`s and i`ll admit that the difference is priceless

You`re going to love it !

On my Club Sport, I added a Fabspeed pre-muffler, B & B muffler, a K & N instead of the stock along with a SW chip. Nice seat of the pants improvement. A buddy in CA with a similarly prepared CS has a dyno showing 238 HP.

Mark J....... nice car I just finishes my 78 SCarrera in CS white/red colors. See it here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-scarrera.html

I received my sw chip yesterday in the mail..that was fast. Anyway looks easy to install...anyone do it themselves? I hate fiddling with circuit boards. My car is an 86 built in november of 85 so I am wondering will I have to use that supplied wire they sent..and will I have to modify the ecu to the newer version ecu from 87? Anyone have an answer

If you have any questions, ask Steve. He's an e-mail away on weekends.

It is quite simple, and he provides very detailed instructions.

Jump in, it's not so scary. Just follow the instructions - be gentle when prying the old chip off - Take your time, good light, don't bend any pins,
