mated with an autothority chip that gives sort of a lumpy idle on start up and the chip is 15 years old
I had an old autothority chip that also produced a lumpy idle. this got worse over time since I also got their hotwire MAF. I think oil contamination from the K&N over the years contributed to / compounded this effect.

just installed a new chip from 'the other guy'. excellent results.

now something I had hesitated to confess to this group. when trying to install the chip I cracked my DME board. 25 yr old plastic very brittle. got it repaired. the lesson I learned is rather than try to separate the plastic stand-off by hand, I used my snap-ring pliers on reverse to separate then. that way you can apply force exactly next to each stand-off post rather than pull up on the whole board.

good luck and enjoy the increased excitement.
