She's here!
Well, it's official...the newest member of the family is here. I'm sure some of you will remember Jeremy's amazing handiwork. I'm happy to announce she has taken up residence in my garage. I will continue to call her "Neva". I've always believed it to be bad luck to change a ship's name, and can only imagine it should apply to cars as well. I actually had her delivered about 6 weeks ago, and she has languished in the garage, as the Northeast was slammed with snow storm after snowstorm. I originally thought of driving her up from FL, but we seemed to have poor weather every weekend. I had DeMoise Trking ship it up, and they did a phenomenal job. I would recommend them in a minute. I had originally registered her as a regular car, only to find out there was NO WAY she'd pass the emissions, as the CAT has been removed, and the cams had been upgraded. Back to the DMV, reapply as a classic, shell out more money, and hope she'd pass the general safety inspection. Fortunately, Jeremy had included all the removed exhaust hardware, so if push came to shove, I could reassemble it, lose hp, but squeak through. Fortunately, that wasn't necessary, and the car has it's new inspection sticker, and is now legal to drive. I hesitated making the announcement until I knew for sure I could drive her. The trip to the inspection station, even though it was raining ( I can't catch a break with this weather) was a blast. I can only imagine what it'll be like in dry weather. I look forward to many a fun DE event, since my driving skills are, to put it mildly, crappy! As soon as I figure out how to post photos, I'll do it. Many thanks to all the people here who helped me out with this purchase, I can only imagine the horrible car I would have purchased without the excellent advice I got here. And thanks to Jeremy, who put up with my insane questions, and had the patience of a saint dealing with me. Finally, to all who wondered if the car is as amazing as you thought....YES

My 12yo daughter has been bugging me non stop about taking the car out, and mistakenly believes she will be allowed to drive it someday I hesitate to even teach her do drive a manual transmission. As a testament to German engineering and construction, I had to take the car out in a veritable monsoon the other day for inspection....not a leak to be seen.
