Here we go again. The latest Pano and Excellence issues have small display ads for the sparetop. ~$299.00 + S&H. Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of this product? I'd appreciate opinions on: your satisfaction, product quality, customer service, etc. Thanks.Walt

There is/was a pretty big thread on that top on the Pelican Parts web board. Many of the guys had actually purchased the thing. Supposedly some who had early models had heard that many of the kinks had been worked out. can't remember everything stated...

I too am looking at this fiberglass replacement top as a way to continue enjoying my car and not worry about messing up the VERY expensive folding top. I read through many of the comments from the previous threads and have come to the conclusion that:
1. The price is less than recovering my existing top
2. There is no way someone is going to be able to put a knife through this top.
3. If it does get damaged beyond usability, I can always put the original top back on.
I'll let you know after I buy mine.

I'd sent them an email asking about the top, and all I got was a word doc and some pix. Further emails went unanswered.
IMHO, it looks hokey. If you want, I'll post the pix they sent me when I get home tonight.
