Default 84' seats

Looking at an 84' Targa that has fabric seats. Does anyone know if the fabric was a standard feature and leather as an optional upgrade? Never seen fabric on one of these. Dealer marketing this as an exclusive option in 84.

That fabric was probably a special order, or a recover.

Murphy, that was a special order item. A guy here in San Antonio has the same interior and he said he special ordered it for his 85 Carrera.

I used to have some Porsche script seats in a 944 and I think it's interior was "special order" (had no sunroof, perf leather headliner & a nice mix of tan and black).

Thanks guys. Wasn't having much luck researching whether this was an option or not. The seats look to be in remarkable shape which was leading me to a possible recover.

Paul Champagne in Corpus does an amazing job in duplicating this pattern with laser etching.

I'm looking at an '86 that has these seats.

I like them a lot. The fabric appears to be very high quality, it seems to wear very well.

I had access to the option code at one point, but now I can't seem to find it.

Yeah they are nice. It looks like there was an option for cloth door panels too, and the seats were available in either leatherette/cloth, or leather/cloth in several colors. That was no ordinary option, and the car probably had a very involved and eager original owner.
