All I can say is I'd not put "COA" in the description when and if they sell. They mean absolutely nothing, and in fact I assign negative marks to a seller that tries to pass it along as something of value.

I appreciate the help, its not a $6k car. Not being arrogant here, I have bought and sold dozens of air cooled cars but not one this old or this correct, I am not the seller, I am just getting some pricing info for the seller.
Not trying to be arrogant either but with your experience and first hand knowledge of the car you may be the best judge as to its value.

I don't know about you - but I've seen people spend stupid money for low mileage original cars - even middies - the 74 at least if emission exempt which makes it more favorable. So it's not 8K - and it's not 20K - so maybe somewhere in between. High end if they are not in a hurry to sell - lower end if they want to move the car. You have to remember that it's bahama yellow - I've seen people goo over this color - especially on an original car.

That being said - right now I'll retract my high teens lower 20's - It's cold right now - probably a mid teens car at best. Now wait for the spring - in the NE and you should be able to get upper teens for it if it's as nice as you convey.

Good call. Even better.........wait till after tax season. Either that stress is past, or somebody will get a return burning a hole in their pocket!

BTW, pics would be great.....

Thanks for the opinions, its not a 6 or 7k car. Nothing needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I also agree that 20k is probably a reach. Not really even for sale yet so no rush. He asked me my opinion and I figured I would put it out there and see what comes back. Yea I have bot and sold a ton of air cooled cars and I have a good idea. This car is a straight clean no rust no games, every single part and system is in proper working order and original or OEM excpet for the tensioners and pop off valve.

How long is he willing to put it on the market?

Have the head stud been replaced with "time-certs" and valve guides?

I would look at SC's and 84-85 Carrera's for sale that are similar in condition/mileage, then lower the asking price by about 10 to 15 percent.

Can you post some photos?

John
Why is it such a horrible time to sell early 911's right now?

Good cars seem to be at all time highs right now....??
