Doug, there is no love without pain - you made the right choice. ( I think the wife is watching over my shoulder)

Whalebird that "me or the 911" was posed to Murphy, not me. Murphy was the previous owner of Matt's car....and I think he made the right choice. Her, well, her judgement is still in question.

It's a chick-magnet I guess.

As for Boxsters, I can understand the obversion to them, especially when dealing with hard-core 911-types. After all I still think the 911 is THE definitive Porsche. On the other hand, the Boxster is a small 2-seater and should really be thought of as a totally different car in a different category.

My $0.02 is that a Porsche is a Porsche. I may upgrade to a 911 later when I really need the space in back for a car seat or two. Of course, the extra horsepower is nice too

" a Boxster sits in your driveway and reminds you that you really couldn't aford a 911 "

funniest thing I ever heard...

So true! But some Boxster owners might argue that the mid-engined car has better handling. I still would rather have the 911, but the Boxster (in S form), is not bad at all, I must say.

Better handling...opinion. Neutral handling...sure. I think a Boxter is everything a sports car should be and the S has some real power too - a very capable car.
