Reminiscing on this thread I posted back in 2009. Amazing some of the deals that were available back then. People were getting g50 911s for 5k. In 2015 I bought my first 911 for 7.5k a running 99 996 that needed an engine rebuild. Still have the car to this day and love it. Have some great memories with it.

sounds like OP travels to Mexico a lot - I'd look there
highly unlikely a mechanically solid 911 cab be bought in the US for $6k today - that was true 20 years ago tho
a 924/944 is also costly re parts and labor, not easy to work on and worth less when done

I did get mine for $6k, have maybe $500 in it, and some work of my own (I do all my own work short of machine shop stuff).
I have put about 6,000 miles on it so far, no major issues so far. It does need some more things done, but it is my daily driver, 70 miles per day mostly freeway.
It's a 1965, but with later 70's bodywork, and it is a little motley, but I absolutely love it.
I got very lucky.

Really? Come on now everyone- this is a bait question. You would have to go back 25 yw=ears to find a good 911 for $6K and even then, good is a relative term.
