Reminiscing on this thread I posted back in 2009. Amazing some of the deals that were available back then. People were getting g50 911s for 5k. In 2015 I bought my first 911 for 7.5k a running 99 996 that needed an engine rebuild. Still have the car to this day and love it. Have some great memories with it.

sounds like OP travels to Mexico a lot - I'd look there

highly unlikely a mechanically solid 911 cab be bought in the US for $6k today - that was true 20 years ago tho

a 924/944 is also costly re parts and labor, not easy to work on and worth less when done

Default recent.996. purchase.

i recently purchased a 996 2003. even as a rebuilt title i payed 12.500. he was asking 14.500. it has a couple of issues. ie .cold start itbhas a little cough. then clears after i rev.her up .a couple of times. and a slight harsh downshift from 3rd to 2nd. but I can live with it. .but like someone pointed out above try cali you are more likely to find a half decent 911 for 6k. than on east coast. im.in fl not many 911 s here .which is why I grabbed mine. with both hands.

It's a 1965, but with later 70's bodywork, and it is a little motley, but I absolutely love it.

I got very lucky.

Really? Come on now everyone- this is a bait question. You would have to go back 25 yw=ears to find a good 911 for $6K and even then, good is a relative term.

A '65 911 in any shape is worth more than $6k!
