Post gauges

I have a 1981 911SC. I'd like to install a VDO voltmeter, but would like to keep the "factory look" in my interior. Is there an aftermarket console I can use? I seem to remember 1970's 930s having something similar. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check with Stephen at Imagine Auto, he had or has a 930s center console where additional gauges fit.

Thanks Geoffrey. I checked out the site, but did not find the console for sale, although some of the images on the site include it! As it is Sunday, my e-mail won't be read until Monday(?). I'll update when I get a response, if anyone else is searching for this elusive part.

9xauto.com sells an aftermarket console, but it looks a little different from the stock one. From the photos, it appears that the ash tray goes away with installation.

Looking forward to your update.

GeorgeM,

I had forgotten about this thread until I read your post. I checked out 9xauto.com and found exactly what I wanted -- small console addition under my A/C controls for a voltmeter. I got a response from Stephen @Imagineauto.com, who said he had 930S console in any color or fabric I wanted. I really don't need all that space. I just wanted a voltmeter and a stock appearance.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for the 9xauto site.
