Default Anyone using the Charge-O-Mat?

Well, I just plugged mine in, turned it on to the 'Car' setting - and nothing seems to happen... :/ The indicator on the car setting is orange, but the battery indicator is not lit. So I guess it is not charging...

What can be the cause of this?

Maybe your battery is on full charge...I would try turning all the lights on/off and anything else to suck up juice to see if the thing wakes up

My car has been sitting for at least 3 months so the battery can't be fully charged. Anyway, there is an indicator for when the battery is fully charged and one for when it is charging, so I think it is strange that either of them isn't lit.

The manual does say something about placing the charger outside the car and then run the cable over the threshold - I placed my charger inside the car and plugged it to a cable reel. But I don't think that would have anything to do with it at all...

If you're using it in the "plugged into the cigarette lighter" mode, there are some cars whose lighters are switched with the key so the lighter is out of circuit when the key is off. If you're directly connected to the battery, please ignore the above.

I use the 'cigarette lighter mode'. If I only plug the charger into the lighter when ignition is off it shows sign of life as the 'car mode' light on the charger is lit. As it is lit I suppose the lighter is not switched with car.

I have an SC and the cigarette lighter option will not work as I have a switched lighter socket.

Should probably have mentioned it earlier... my car is '92. I suppose the light socket most then be different from a SC.

Try using the cig lighter and see if it heats up. Not sure when they switched to switched power on the cig lighter. In my 930 you have to have the key turned, in my 993 I didn't.

Well, problem solved..

I never really thought about this until now, but my cable reel was bad... :P Found another one, and the car is now charging. ..

Sorry for the inconvenience guys, but I can tell you, if you ever get into something with the cigarette lighter on 964s - it does heat up without ignition.
