Would you have PMO's on your 911 SC ?

Carburetors are NOT for engines which must pass emissions testing. In those cases, EFI (or CIS) are the only options.
Anyone who owned cars in the mid and late Seventies knows all too well how poorly carbureted, emissions-controlled cars ran back then. Carbs and cats are pretty much mutually exclusive,...

The CA exemption stops at 1975. Thank the Mummer driving Arnold for that one!

Indeed, Arni and our lame legislators really botched that up! And they did it intentionally, as prior to their changing the statute it was as simple as a 20-year-old car=exemption. Now CARB (Ca Air Resources Board ...punks brought shame to such a noble word) gets to set the rules. ...dang nanny state

If it makes you feel any better, its the same basic thing here in Orygun,...
Any car 1975 or newer in the main metropolitan areas, MUST pass smog tests otherwise its off the road, no exceptions, referees, or "passes", regardless what it takes to comply.

Wow, and I thought the throttle response on my SC was pretty good, especially compared to the later Motronic cars! Hmm, I've been thinking I need another 35 horsepower, so while PMOs are expensive they are cheaper than a different car... Steve, will PM you about pricing on those babies.

I guess I drive one of those " green" vehicles ....
Well when compared to my lawn mower anyway ..

Troy,
I got my PMO's from Steve and they are the best money that I have spent on my car. The acceleration is phenomenal. I surprise many newer car owners on the race track. I've had people ask me to pop open the engine cover to see what was size motor I was running.

Another data point. The old 911 Performance Handbook says carbs are good for about 10hp but with the increase in throtle response if feel more like 30.
As noted, carbs w the righ pistons (valve releaf) alows for better breathing cams for even more HP. Go to far with the cams and I suspect a re-gear of the transmission starts becomming a requirement.
