Looks kinda nice. I wonder why somebody would go to so much "detail" only to sell? Can't be that well sorted. Any such car would usually be a labor of love and if built by a reputable shop - would never have to be posted on E-bay. The wheels are sweet.

Seriously only 100 hours. I would believe it with JE pistons - which is a sign to me.

I like the wheels. I would go a different route with the motor. IMHO it seems, by his own description, that there were some cut corners. MSD ignition and JE pistons are cut corners.

Agree. 300 hp coupled to a 915. What are you going to use it for - what racing class was it "purpose-built" for? Stock gears, no mention of required modifications to strengthen the housing. What are heavy-duty CV joints? Mixed bag of pretty + expensive parts + concours prep = makes little sense.

Seems like a race car could use a shift light or oil pressure light in place of the clock?

Overall, it does look pretty fun.

I think whoever built it wanted to look like they raced but probably didnt at all. i guess you can call that a "poser", but after all it is a beautiful car.

Yes, for sure there are some oversights.... stock 915 gears?? no engine shot, big oops and WTF is up with the 85 mph speedo?!?!?

If you're looking for originality non-Poser car how about this......

Kind of blows this theory out of the water...... "if built by a reputable shop - would never have to be posted on E-bay"

It is pretty -- but I'm not at all sure about 'every detail' being taken care of.

Others have mentioned the stock 1976 915, which won't hold up to the 'calculated' 302 engine HP (calculated? huh?).

930 brakes in front, and stock 1976 M calipers in back?

350# springs all around? I can't imagine how that would handle, especially with that track width. No mention of any of the details of reinforcing the chassis for springs in the back. But then, that might mean having to get a camera close to the engine.

So, it's not going to be particularly fast around a track, at least if the description of the springs is correct. And off the top of my head, I can't think of a class it'd be good for.

Somebody without a lot of experience who just liked to get excited about a car made it up as he went along?

I have heard lots of profesional race drivers say there is no place in any race car for a speedometer. In fact I have had to reach in the car in the pits and put a piece of tape over the speedo at the command of a team owner to keep the driver focused. One car I helped build had a close-up photo of a woman's breasts tacked over the speedometer - speed is useless info in a track car. Maybe thats why it retains a 85 mph unit?
