For all you Gurus...How much is a car like this worth? It has some details that need to be worked out, but it's not a bad place to start, right? The only serious sin might be the JE pistons. What's the problem with JE pistons, are they that bad that the right thing to do would be to pull them out and replace them with what?

Overall, it does look pretty fun.

Tango635... It is hard to evaluate a car like this. Often a well constructed and proven track car can be worth a lot more than the original car. This is true for Turbos and the early 911 varients. However, value is hard to assign to a car that has no history, no log book, and a relativly small number of comparative vehicles to evaluate against.
In summery, a proven track car is worth a lot of money but it takes a lot of money to make one. JE pistons and cylinders have tried to nudge into the aircooled porsche market with cost effective alternatives to the expensive Mahle P/C . Mahle has been the cornerstone of any quality aircooled engine project. I have personally been involved with 911SC projects who's engine was pushing the $30k and still using factory CSI injection. JE pistons are not acceptable alernatives in a top quality aircooled Porsche project.

Does that mean the oil pressure will be correct at least twice a day?

Still no pictures of the suspension, brakes, front apron, or hydraulic clutch set up. I wonder what kind of timing chain tensioning system is used (no Carrera tensioners)? I wonder what "calculated" hp & torque is?

that always blows me away about a car like this - do all the work then guess on the Hp - what's a dyno run? Mine was $85 a session and I know exactly the HP - And more importantly the A/F ratios
