All excellent info guys, thanks a bunch. I may go as far as touching base with some of the local PCA folks and get some of their cars on scales too. Finding weights for Cabriolets and Targas is doubly difficult.

My 85 with SR, 7&8 Fuchs, LSD, factory electric sport seats with all stock items in the front boot and stock cat in place weighted in at 2800 lbs. The G50 3.2's are about 95 lbs more.
Removing the spare tire, jack & tools got me to 2750. I think the cat delete was good for another 15 lbs.

There is not much real differance between an SC and 3.2 /915 if they have the same equipment.
The 3.2 has a 25 lb lighter AC system, the SC has 20 v 24 mm rotors and front aloy calipers. The body is the same. On the 3.2 Carrera AC was standard, on an SC is was an option.

I hate to inject this but...... my 912 weighs in at 2150lbs. OK.... she's MAYBE 125hp but power to wgt is evrything. Imagine when I replace the doors and hood with CF versions of the same!! That will be another 100lbs or so shed. Dollars to lbs is another ratio all together

yes, shedding weight is adding cheap HP.
The 3.2 rotors are significantly heavier than SC rotors. You also have to include the footwell blowers, factor in individual options such as power or sport seats, stereo gear, and the fact that not everyone weighs their car with a full tank.
I'm not surprised at the magnitude of variance in reported weights, but I think some of them are bad numbers.

I wouldn't mind if the heat still worked. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Weight is from the scale for our local landfill. Given was 3200 with driver. Driver is 240. There were 10 miles driven off a good fill up on the tank and oil tank level was centered in the white.
There's a truck scale a bit further up the road I planned to go to for comparison but it will have to wait until the spring as we've had our first snow and the roads have been salted.
