Default Trim Paint, Underside and touchups.

On my 1980 911 SC, there is a small dent on the leading edge of the drivers door.

My plan for this summer is to repair this damage and repaint this area. I have a few areas that could use a bit of touchup so I will do those at the same time.

Almost all of my black trim (around the windshield, door handles, 911SC on lid) what is the best paint to do these?

On one of my 1961 Sunbeam Alpines I painted the entire undercarriage with POR 15 paint. Looks great and will not rust. You can hardly dent that stuff with a hammer. I have been thinking of painting the removable panels from the bottom of my 911 SC. Has anyone done this or should I even think about this.

Thanks,
Rob

I will be driving that Sunbeam Alpine this next weekend and week to a Sunbeam rally in South Dakota. 2000 miles round trip.

It is running really good but it is not a Porsche. I know every square inch of that car but I am a novice at the Porsche.

If you go to

You can check out more on my Alpine.

Now how about some info on the trim and thoughts about painting the panels on the bottom.

You can get the paint at an automove store, what you want is black matte or satin finish. I used Duracolor from Autozone, can costs about $6. I think Wurth makes some trim paint, but it's closer to $20 plus shipping. I recently did the handles and wheel caps, came out great. If you want the process on how to do it, let me know.

Rob, I am a Sunbeam Tiger fan. I also am an idiot. Sold my San Diego Tiger six years ago, give or take. It had 58K. I still am reeling over my mistake. As soon as I sell my 356 coupe driver I will be in the market for another Tiger.
Beautiful job on the Alpine. Most are not aware what nice cars the Alpine are. I like to watch them at the Coronado races every year. Wish I could buy my old one back. Don't recall who I sold it to and kept no records. Idiot........

the store that sells to all the auto body shops in your area will have SEM trim paints

if the trim is at all flexible you need that or something similar with a flex agent in it

it is also formulated for plastics
