Its critically important for any prospective buyer to check out the shop that has done any work on the car in question. That means checking references, asking around on BBS's,....etc, etc.
In some cases, this can be time-consuming process, however its well worth the time to ensure that a prospective buyer isn't surprised AFTER the sale. To me, "due-diligence" helpss prevent those impulse buys that are a big reason why many people get burnt by a car with "issues".

I still "agree, but..."
- with that much effort required, one could easily buy an SC -- that would require less diligence and you'd have an Al cased motor.; and you'd avoid thermal reactors for sure.
The other issue is that some people do not live near a major city. If they have one Pcar shop, they are lucky.
