Default Track Tires for my 911 SC

Toyos RA1 (discontinued) and the new R-888 are hard to find at least here in South FL, for the specs of my SC83 (205/55 16 and 245/45 16). The shop is offering me an alternative G-Force R1 made by BF Goodrich. Any opinion on those from rennlist trackers ? Or would you know any shop that I can find the Toyos online ? Many thanks !

You can still find RA-1's if you look. From what I know, the BFG is a faster tire, but doesn't last as long and is not recommended for the street (not even recommended for commuting to the track).

damon@tirerack.com is a site sponsor. He may be helpful. I love my Toyos (and yes, my company sells to Toyo's west coast DC so I'm bias)

Or you could call John at CCW and go to 17's and have better tire selection.

I have a set of Mich cup tires on 7 and 8 inch Fuchs but today I spent on the track (Harris Hill in San Marcus TX) with Dunlop Dizzario Spec 1 I think ( could be some spelling issues there). the track was a little wet and I was impressed with the tires. Much better than the Bridgestome Potanzas I had before. The Dunlops are also mounted on 16 " 7 and 8 inch Fuchs and are 205/55 16 front and 225/50 16 rear and they are street non R rated tires so I can autocross in stock class. The car an '83 SC

+1 For the Dunlop Direzzas!! Stickiest tires I've ever owned.

The BFG R1's can be compared to the Hoosier R6. I get my tires from Phil's Tire Service. I had too many issues with AIM in Sonoma and I have stopped using them for my race tires.
