Dont mean to be a negative poster... but he will be lucky to get 30k for that car in this market. Better to hold on to it... the 87 is a far superior car when it comes to turbo's.. and if sellers cant get 35k for one with 20k miles... then that gives you an idea of the market...

Another 87. Low miles (20k miles). Less than 35k.

Keep in mind that this is a 9500 mile car. Much, much different than a 25,000 mile car. Nowhere close to a 50k or higher mileage car. It seems that in the collector world, once these cars hit over 10,000 to 15,000 miles, they are no longer ultra low mileage cars. Under 10,000 miles is really more in the collector market and this car's mileage is definitely in the "ultra low" mileage range.
Don't compare some of these '80's cars with more mileage to this one. '79 was the last of the '70's era Turbos and are desireable.
When I bought my concours only car, I wouldn't even look at a car with over 30,000 miles at that point since way too much wear and tear can happen at that higher mileage (for a concours car). I paid a premium for a low mileage car.
All that being said, I wouldn't waste any time getting opinions off a web board on what this car is worth. Have your friend have some serious conversations with the few pros in the industry, namely Sloan and the gentleman mentioned in HooverWi post above (Anthony).
