My new '69 911S
Here's a few pics of the '69 911S I bought 2 days ago. Briefly, the ad showed up on CL Albuquerque the night before. I PM'd Peter Z. to try to get some quick info on the model and what to look for, zoomed down to see the car before work the next morning, and, after considerable drama and worry, was able to complete the purchase that evening.
The seller, a very sophisticated and sharp 82 yo, has had the car for 37 years and lovingly cared for it and drove it all that time. It has never been damaged, retains all original paint excepting the hood, which he had repainted due to rock chips. The rest of the car is all original and in exceptional condition. One would not believe that it has 128k miles looking at it.
The car came with the original owners manual, radio guide, a 1969 dealers list, tool kit, jack, Fuchs spare, etc.
The owner cried a couple of times as he let his old friend go, but in the end everyone felt good about the passing on of such a special car.
Here's some photos from that night.
I can't believe my good luck. Hopefully, it will continue when the car gets to my mechanic on Monday.
Thanks again, Peter.

lthatch, that is awesome. Those pictures of the 82 yo and his wife, standing next to his love (lol) are adorable. I offered the PO of my car visitation rights, which he never took me up on. You have a gem of a car. I'm sure it will be good to you too.

That's good Karma right there! I heard somewhere recently that we are merely custodians of these and other such special vehicles. We don't so much own them as preserve, share and enjoy them until they move on to the next chapter in their life. It must be very reassuring to the PO to know you too will cherish this car. Congrats!

Great car and great pictures. In 1970 The Air Force moved me to train in a different aircraft and I took my '66 912 with me to the new base. As we settled a neighbor who became a good friend brought over his '69 911 S in that same green color. Oh how I wanted to trade my 912 for an "S" but with two young kids and about to be off for a third tour in VietNam it was not in the cards. Still like the early 911S and for not being a green person that color just fit the car. Great find take good care of your prize and enjoy the ride. Also thanks for bringing back memories.

Great find
My brother lived near Sandia Peak from 85-95 with Honewell at the time.
He used to have a white 69 911T, widebody conversion with a 930 engine. It is now in Europe since 94.
