Default New "surroundings".....Ruby gets a new race seat

I just got back from an extended trip to find some nice boxes on the front porch. My wife saw them before I did, and didn't buy the statement that I'd ordered some catalogs and brochures from the home office, and they are using "whatever" boxes they have laying around.

I'm outgrowing my Recaro SRD's, so I bought a new Recaro Profi SPG XL for the driver's side. I'm going to mount it on B-K side mounts on a new Recaro double slider. I hope to mount on the stock mount points as the Targa affords me a bit more headroom than a sunroof Coupe. We'll see how that works out.

I'm too tired to start today, so I'll get to it next weekend. I'll post on how it goes. The goodies:

The ramps get me parking and access over my lift. I've got B&B headers with a Flowmaster muffler going on at the rear. It has a rather....how shall we say it...."authoritative" bark.

Thanks Fred....I owe you a PM on the wheels. I'm due to have mine shipped any time-they have to work out a problem with the finish first.

Good point! Not in the physical sense, in fact I gained a HP or so by losing a bit of weight. I'm just tired of wedging my left leg in around turns at the track.

My seats are the SPG Pole Position, but I don't think the XL size. And mine aren't cloth.

And come to think of it, I also have pull-out armrests for long drives. (And that's the iPod in the red case -- pimpy!)

But Ed and I do share the same exhaust. I also have the Flowmaster and B&B headers.

You'll love the seats, Ed. If you lean them back a little, they're great for long drives.

Those look alot like the Cobra Imola S's I had in my street/track 993 . Much better on the track and not bad for the 7hr trips up to N.Cal.

The seat is comfortable....watched a bit of TV this afternoon while sitting in it on the living room floor. I am leaning toward the leaning back at bit, pardon the pun, for the drives.

I like the width of the XL a bit better for my size than the PP's. Also, since I'm sorta tall, the belt holes in the backrest are a bit higher as well.
