my own $.02 is that the Pelican site is good for sheer volume and fast response. So in that respect I agree with Ed.
On the other hand, there is a lot of BS "out there" in general. By that I mean if you talk to the local auto parts guy, your own trusted mechanic, racer friends, etc. you will generally get a different response from each guy.
Pelican is no exception. You have to cull out the BS. When the volume is so great, as it is on Pelican, there is more culling to do. And you can't escape the social aspect of it, good or bad. You get a few negative types now and then on any website, and in any organization.
I'd recommend joining both Pelican and Renn. When the negativity and BS gets too much for you on one, switch to the other, and then back, and so forth. That way you don't get the blues from too much crap on a single website, and you can still get the positive benefits. Just my own take on it.

I just realized that all the "true" 911 fans post on Pelican.
I was wondering why it is so slow on this board.......afterall, there are more 911's than 964/993/996/997's but those forums are full of posters unlike this one.
I figured that maybe the older guys had the 911's and weren't up to speed with computers.

I was also surprised about how slow this forum is, especially after years in the 964 section. It's still very nice I think, just a bit slowish.

....or maybe the Carrera version. It sounds like the "spoof" has been a resounding success in enrollment? Maybe the Carrera owners are a bit more proud....
PS- The only things we're missing from the SCWDP is a silly laugh and delusions of grandeur.

I always thought they (SC owners) needed to keep up their enthusiasm for adjusting timing, checking for vacuum leaks and fuel pressure, and fiddling with WURs and blown up airboxes.
I feel for them and the hardships that drama must cause, so I make allowances.
