I'm wondering about the differences in feel and curb weight, for those who know about, and have experienced, the 3.2 and RSA. I have seen various numbers for the curb weight on the coupe and the targa, so I am wondering what is definitive as to curb weight for both of these models. Also, interested in the feel of the 3.2 versus the RSA, especially the steering and handling. I have an RSA -- and understand its advantages in performance and updates -- but I've thought of selling it, and going back a bit in history.
Thanks for any input.

I own an RSA and have owned an '88 Carrera as well. IMO, with the exception of the appearance of the bumpers, the RSA is an ideal balance between the 3.2 and the 993. The 3.2 is far more primitive - shifting, AC generally does not work or work well, slower, etc. The RSA has the stove pipe headlights, manual steering, tight shifter, great seats, relatively good power, big brakes and wheels, 030 sport suspension, etc. The 993 is almost too luxurious to me compared to the previous models - les road feel, power steering, etc.

I have owned both and they're two different beasts. You dont really need to pay the premium for the RSA, you can find a nice 964 C2 and make it an RSA for a lot less money. The 911 is a lot more raw as compared to the more refined 964 but there is a case to be made for both. The only real way to know is to drive a 911 back to back with your RSA

In summary, each generation has it's own positive characteristics and actually, I love all three but would choose a 911 Club Sport as the one to own. Since Porsche only sent 28 to the US it's a harder find. You can't go wrong with either choice.

Are you talking about a stock 3.2? Don't all 3.2 need sport exhaust and chip (gives higher reving motor) for example?. Are you talking about a stock California legal RSA?

The RS America does not have power steering. I've owned two, and one thing that prompted this post was my thought that a 3.2 would provide as much or more visceral feel (which the RSA is known for) for much less money. Thanks for all of the input so far.

The answer is, maybe and, depends on how you describe visceral. I can tell you that my RSA with a cold-air intake and Fabspeed Exhaust was the best air-cooled sound of any street 911 that I've owned.
