Newbie checking in.....
Just thought I would post and say "Hi". Some of you might recognize the name from another Porsche forum. Always heard about "Rennlist" this and "Rennlist" that, so I thought I would finally get over here and check it out.
Just a little FYI about myself:
Artist specializing in automotive art : avatar is a painting of a Maserati I did for Bob S. at Brumos before he passed.
married w/ 1 son (2.5 yrs old)
CT. born, FL raised, CT. college (Paier College of Art)
Car addict w/ odd taste in "cool" cars.
85 Dodge Omni GLH turbo (ex SCCA)
90 VW Corrado
91 VW GTi 16v
06 VW GTi 2.0 turbo
83 911SC
The SC needs head studs...so i'm saving up to do a rebuild hopefully this summer. Here is the pic of the car.

eh.....thanks, but it's not really that sharp yet. Looks alot better in pics. A few areas are in need of paint and i've been collecting new parts for a while. (euro trim/ rubber/ early Carrera tail etc.) Hard to get motivated to do any paint work when the car is just sitting in the garage.

Hey! Welcome to Rennlist. I'm usually over on the 993 board but check in here from time to time. The painting of the Birdcage Maserati looks beautiful. I have a few prints of Nicholas Watts.
Good automotive art captures more drama than photos usually do. Best wishes with the projects
you have planned for you 911SC, it certainly looks nice in the photo.

[QUOTE]geez...not one "welcome to the site" in almost a month...hmmm. I'm sensative.[/QUOTE
Maybe we didnt pay attention to your sensitive needs----the artist part of your situation and react is a proper manner. However, I for one did not catch the Birdcage Maserati (it is a birdcage I hope) . I think it is the pretty car of all time. I have a 6" balsa wood model that I made when they came out and it is still in my watch/value/keepsake box along with a Japanese Baka Bomb.
We (my 20 year old boy and I) have a 1983. I was able o find a very rough 1982 and we bought it for the engine and gear box. I think this is a good place to put cash if the price is right, assuming that you are going to keep the car.----------- anyway------------
WELCOME to you, Birdcage Man

Thanks everybody for the compliments and the "hello". I feel better now.
Alan..you've got great taste in cars as I have a soft spot for VWs. I have an 06 GTi and a 91 16v GTi.
I'm not going to change the SC too much. I love the Euro trim pieces/ narrow bumperettes etc. and i'll probably spice up the interior a bit. Nothing too crazy. Now just to get those pennies saved for the rebuild!

Passat is really the wife's car. My past Volkswagen's include a 1983 GTI,
1986 Scirocco, 1982 Rabbit diesel pick-up (daily driver for 11 years!), 1997 GTI VR6,
99 Golf, 99 Passat and 1965 Bug (still in very good original paint). I still miss my
`85 Carrera.

Geez...I havent been here since this post originated. Too long I suppose. Especially since my kid was 2 1/2 and now he's 4 1/2 and has a 2 month old little brother, the VW Corrado is gone and the 06 GTI was replaced with an 09. Time to get a little more involved here. As I said above, I'm an artist, so I figured I'd show off my latest painting/prints. Maybe I should start a thread to show these off. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

thanks. here are a couple others of the same car. this one sold and had lots of interest for prints...which I didn't have. That prompted me to do the second painting above and have prints made.
