Denise shaped my understanding of the automobile, people, and the blending of the two early on. I read her column for decades, before I ever realised she was a factory driver for the majors.
In Nashville a few years back, I visited the Lane Automobile Museum. I had a great time, but they had a Citreon of some odd design. When I admired the interior, I noticed the brushed aluminum shift gate had her autograph. Strange that: it made my day.

There are some elements I don't care for, but I'd not kick it out of the garage....

Oh man I wonder how loud that is? Those Italians know design for sure. I like the quilted sound padding, and the swoopy front fenders, which remind me of the original Coyote X, the MkI.

Alfas kind of hit me like that too. That's part of what I've come to love about them. They are mostly gorgeous. Their racing efforts, especially in the early years(and I mean early - like around ww1)was spectacular, and really always have been since.
I like Alfas.

Thanks to all. Just found out I will be photographing a few cars Friday for my next couple of paintings. A Martini RSR and a 935. Funny that the next 2 are both Martini liveried cars like my last 2 paintings. I promise after I paint these next 2 I will paint something a little different.

In Savannah, right? I should go. I've never been to one before. It's only a couple hours away.
