Default Superlite wheels for narrow/swb cars

Anyone running or familiar with Superlite wheels? Per their E-bay auctions, they claim 7 x 15 inch wheels will fit a swb 911/912 without issue. I would imagine you are still running a 195/60/15 then??? The point of having wider wheels is to run a wider tire, no? regardless they look awesome see here

Superlites have been around for a long time, and are run in many vintage race on many cars. If those are the real deal, that sure seems like a good price for 4 new/strong wheels. But, then again I don't know if that is a deal or not. Anything under $2K is a good deal on wheels, IMO based on some of the other alternatives to used Fuchs.

Oh, they do indeed look right on early 911's, IMO

I think they look cool, but leaving the center open may be the norm, but no center caps drives me nuts.

I like that 911 too!!!

Yes noticed that, 14lbs each. I might as well run the original steelies!!

Minilites have been around for ever and Panasports after that. These appear to be a new version of the old Minilites. Made in Australia from what I've seen.

Fuchs are of course the best stongest & lightest and of course period correct. I was just looking for a more available and cost effective alternative. These may not be ideal but they do look great. Very Trans-am-esque IMO.

I bought a set of Superlites for my Datsun 2000 roadster, but the price for brand new was less than $500. I like them just fine, but if I had to do it over, I'd go Panasport for about $1000 for all four wheels (give or take). I think the Panasports look just a little bit better. And if I were considering doing any track days, the Panasports would win hands down.

Peter,

These Minilites will fit a swb, but the offset will still require some fender rolling to get a 225 to fit.

When I was looking for wheels for my 914, I found both Superlites and Minilites being made. Superlites from Austrailia and Minilites from the UK. They were both about $200/ea plus "x" amount of time to allow for shipping (neither supplier had a large supply in stock)

Minilite makes a 6.5x15 which was VERY popular on early 911s and 914-6's. Fit with no rub issues. A 205-50 would fit cleanly and a 225-50 could fit with a little fender lip mod, iirc.
