I'm gonna try to get at least another week of enjoyment out of mine before I have to put it away for the winter. I've only had her for three weeks so it's particularly tough to take that step just yet.

I used to pack up my 911's for the winter and then really hate you southern folks for being able to drive all year round.
My 911's are again all packed up for the winter. However, two weeks ago, I bought a '02 Boxster. Today I drove it in the snow and had a blast going sideways in the fresh white junk. I've forgotten all about my 911's for the time being.
So, there are cures for being Porsche-less in the winter climate!

So sad.
In Atlanta we don't store 911's or nuts for the winter. As the Texan mentioned, we probably drive less, even in GA, during the summer months as the A/C can't keep up.
However this last week it has been cold, then wet, but expecting a turn for the better around turkey day.
Breakout the hockey stick and the blades and start skating.....

yeah , I am not sure if it is an absolute , but it works for me and i NEVER have flat spots on Z rated tires. it helps cradle the tires.
I iwll be reading with envy of all your "WINTER" driving ... heres to all you guys who can drive all year round ...

Re: Tire flat spots. My Bridgestone RE 750s seem to be somewhat susceptible to them, although I'm prone to forgetting to put 45 psi in them for short storage periods...

well that's all folks
I put mine into storage October 1. By next fall I should have my garage addition built, and will then keep the car at home over the winter. My home city gets an average of 50 warm / dry "Chinook" wind periods every winter, when the temperatures can get up into the '60's, so I'll be able to take the car out for a little exercise, now and then.

here in Scotland, if I were to put the car away for 'the winter' I'd probably get to drive it twice a year
I took this on Sunday. I have to wash the car down (to get all the salt off) every time I take it out and dry it off before putting it back in the garage, but thats the downfalls of living in Scotland. Sometime I wonder what I was thinking whan I moved here
