I seem to recall the only issue specific to the '95 MY 993 was a wiring harness problem that was covered by a factory recall. Anyone taking it in could get it replaced. Was there anything else specific to the '95 MY, relative to the other years of 993 production?

Wiring harness problems also in some 96's; 96 was also the first year for vario ram and increase in hp from the 95.

You can buy the steering rack brace for $18 and bolt on to the 95 model, but that was missing there.

Wiring harness was an issue, mine was replaced under warranty.

No Varioram on 95s and no SAI check engine light (Also a significant loss od midrange torque).

95 coupes had basket handle 3rd brake light, which I though disturbed the line and had removed.

That's about it - no real issues with the early 993s other than this.

Not to be argumentative, but, if there haven't been real issues, why have they gotten so cheap relative to other years (just a bad rap)?

Are they? Non-varioram is the only real thing. Hard to mod it to get that mid range torque and few HP that tha VR has. I don't see 95s being priced a lot less.

Low miles command a premium. Ss command a premium. Turbos command a premium. None of these were available in 95, but an apples to apples comparison of 95s to other cars only has the VarioRam as a difference in my opinion.

A-men. If there is an early 964 still out there with a Freudenberg flywheel or gasketless cylinder heads leaking like a sieve I would be very surprised. When I was buying my 964 I was focusing on the later models which is what I ended up with but I eventually regretted paying the premium I did because I could have gotten a great 90 or 91 for a lot less.

I can't find my Used 911 Story right now; so, I forget what Pete Z. said about the '90 & '91 model years, but I appreciate your feedback.
