Default Fuchs Wheel Lock Key

I was curious if anyone in the 911 camp knew of a place to purchase wheel lock keys for Fuchs wheels? I recently bought a 928 with great Fuchs wheels. Alas, no wheel lock key!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm curious about this as well. I only have one key for my wheels too. Do you have to go to the dealer to get the key duplicated or will a locksmith have the correct key to make a duplicate?

The wheel key I'm missing is a lug-wrench type. I was hoping someone had one laying around in a junk pile :-(

If a car that I buy has wheel locks, I immediately remove them so this won't be an issue.

I'd like to see a pic of the 928 with the Fuchs, I've a tough time picturing that.

Ed, I agree. I just recently bought the car and [due to travel schedule] have just now had the chance to dig further into it. I'm finding quite a few oddities such as this.

pictures, tada!

You could try grinding two flat surfaces on the lock then using a large adjustable wrench or a pipe wrench. A socket that just nearly fits the lug nut and an impact gun might do the trick too.........

Hey Porsche4us, when I bought my car I also had only one wheel lock key and went to a local locksmith and he made two more for me with blanks he had. I would assume any good locksmith could do this. I retired my original just in case of loss and have the duplicates on my key chain and original in my safe. Curt

Still in search of my wheel key. I've checked quite a few of the Porsche dismantlers, no one has one. I found a similar set of lugs for a Ford F150 truck [odd] on JCWhitney. They're 14mm locking lugs with the wrench key for $30. I also might take a trip to the local tire shop to see if they have any...

If you're not talking about a true "key" like the older 928-part numbered security devices on the 1980s Fuchs, then you need to find something similar and get out your Dremel kit to custom match it. For the 928 part number wheel locks the keys are available from Performance Products. They also sell separately the dust caps for them. I suggest you get away from those as they are extremely easy to damage and then they are a BEAR to work with. They're a beautiful design (aluminum) but can't handle the abuse they are subjected to.
