The 928 guys are not going to like this
IM thinking about selling the 928 and picking up a 911. In an 83-86 MY will my 6'2" 245# *** fit in one? I had a 73 for a few months. Never did drive it But I do remember the time I did drive it, it was like my feet were way to big for the little pedal area?
Thanks
Kyle

Your height and weight shouldn't be a problem, but the pedals are very tight. I'm 6'4 and 13 shoe, I HAVE to wear driving shoes and use a hub extension to drive my 911.

Shark,
I am 6'-1" and 340....(probably the reason my seat stitching is coming apart)....with size 14 shoes. I can't wear shoes with thick stiff soles, but otherwise, I have never had a problem fitting into the car, or being comfortable on long rides. I have never driven a coupe, but I have heard guys say that Targas do provide a little more head room. I just can't speak from experience here.
Even with my absurd weight and excessive shoe size, I have never felt too large for my car. It actually feels just right for me. Perhaps it's just the chemical release that is happening in my brain when I get behind the wheel. These cars have that effect!
Good luck once again with the search!

No problemo. Get ready for some fun. Not that the 928's aren't, they're just different. Certainly easier to work on, but they rarely need it.
Oh, and you'll find out the 911 crowd is so much better that the 928 group. Ooops, forgot Sean was on this thread. Scratch the last statement.

ok, when I first drove my 911, I always complained about the clutch pedal area. I finally found the way to deal with it. That is driving without shoes. My shoes sizes are 10.5 and 11, and I enjoy it. I have no idea how can someone drive it with bigger than 11 size shoes.

The pedals are pretty close for a #12 foot though...
Have you told the 928 crowd yet

Three Wheelin'
I',m 6'0",245 with size 12 shoes. Feet fit in both my 84 and the 91, but I avoid the clunkier shoes, as they catch the pedals a bit. As far as height, should be no problem. Good luck.

6'1 / 205 here. I have a small momo wheel, manual seats.
I have plenty of legroom, wish there was an in-between position for where I push the seat back for driving shoes vs. workboots (size 9.5-10 here).
Only complaint I have is left foot dead pedal area (there is none).
I have a Cab, and have enough height with the manual seats to be able to get the broomstick across the windshield to roll bar w/ helmet on.

Coupes v. Targas for footwell room
If you have big feet, you may want to avoid Targas. They are quite a bit narrower in the footwell. I'm 6'4" and the seating is very comfortable in my '82 SC Coupe. I think it'd be tight with a helmet however, if you want to track the car.
