I'm by no means an expert but I think you're looking at a tough row to hoe to get the car into Arapahoe County based on how you have the engine set up now, although the cats may be the saving grace. You may consider getting the car emissioned before you move to Arapahoe County to see what you're up against. Since you don't really have to get it passed to drive in Elbert County, I don't think you have to do anything about what they uncover. As an alternative, many shops still have pre-dyno era emissions equipment that can give you an feel for where you stand now. I don't have any idea who would be a good shop for Chevys but you might call 3R Racing at 303-781-0774 for a referral. They are great guys and very supportive of the Porsche here. I'm the treasurer for RMR-PCA and they should remember my name, Roger Buswell. They've done just about every race car you can imagine including Corvettes so they may know what to do.

I read with great interest your post on collector car plates, emissions testing, etc. from 7-18-2009, and I was hoping you might share your thoughts regarding my problem. I have a 1982 corvette, purchased in 1998. I had it registered & plated in arapahoe county - seems like I remember having it emissions tested. Well, the motor self-destructed, and a ground-up rebuild was done (383 SBC, dual cats, modern TPI, o2, etc). The car was through 3 shops before being completed and the original smog equipment is long gone (had to sue that shop owner, never got everything back). I currently live in Elbert county, the land of no emissions testing. The car has regular green plates and it not registered as a collector car. I'm thinking of moving into arapahoe county and am worried that I may not be able to get my little rocket properly, legally, registered. I really need to speak with someone 'off the record' about my problem, and I would be grateful for any help you might provide. Thanks
