Just to add my .02. We did a run the other week up the mountain and when we were at the top we opened our hoods to help cool off things. I reached in to grab the intake to check for heat soak and low and behold it was cold to the touch on all surfaces of the intake even down close to the ports. We forgot to get a temp reading and I didn't have my laptop to check the iat sensor but I have since checked some of my datalogs from my megasquirt and have seen readings as much as 6 degrees below abient. I would say Porsche has done a pretty good job at making a "cold air box". This is on my '75 with a '87 3.2 with no afm and a cone style filter.
